A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner is a wellness expert who works with clients to create individualized, adaptable, holistic mind-body health plans. By taking into account the client’s symptoms and back story, food and mood journal, and other intake forms, the NTP comes up with a plan that is completely bioindividual for the client’s needs. This will include a nutritional and supplemental protocol, in addition to lifestyle adjustments like sleep, stress management, and exercise. The 12 week program provides ample time to form new habits, see incredible health changes, and impart the necessary tools for the client to succeed after our time together is done.

What role does nutrition play in overall wellness?

Nutrition isn’t as simple as calories in/calories out. Think of food as information. Food sends signals and information to every part of the body. The immune system, the endocrine system, the gut bacteria, the brain, the muscles, the organs, and especially the power plants of the human cells, the mitochondria, are continually receiving signals from the foods we feed it. We control whether those signals stimulate inflammation and chronic disease or if they encourage overall health and vitality. Together, we will discover the nutrition your body needs to support your health and wellness goals.

What role does exercise play in overall wellness?

Amazing things happen when we stop viewing exercise as a means for weight loss and instead use it as a tool for overall health. Exercise improves memory, learning retention, and concentration while boosting your energy and improving your mood. As there is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to exercise, we will tailor a program to fit your needs, wants, and abilities.

What role does sleep play in overall wellness?

One night of insufficient sleep can cause inflammation, increase insulin resistance, and mess with the body’s hunger signals. Not such a big deal for one night, but when it happens repeatedly, it adds up quickly. Continual sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke. Because the brain only detoxifies at night during quality sleep, disrupted sleep interferes with the brain’s ability to repair and regenerate. There are many factors than can lead to disrupted sleep, including hormonal imbalances and a flipped circadian rhythm. We will work together to get the sleep patterns back to normal.
